A sporty seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission optimizes responsiveness and efficiency, while smart suspension and chassis tuning enable confident handling and a comfortable ride. Front-wheel drive is standard. However, Audi quattro® all-wheel drive is available for either trim, providing improved grip in various conditions.

The Audi S3 upgrades the driving experience with sport-tuned suspension, run-flat summer tires, standard quattro® AWD, and more aggressive design details. Under the hood, an augmented 2.0-liter turbo-four engine makes 306 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, sprinting to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds. Premium Plus and Prestige trims are also eligible for the S Sport package, which adds adaptive suspension dampers and stylish red-painted brake calipers.
Audi RS 3
Drivers seeking to maximize the Audi A3 Line's performance potential can look to the Audi RS 3. Assembled by Audi Sport GmbH, this high-performance variant gets the RennSport treatment, including lowered adaptive sport suspension, active rear-axle torque vectoring, high-performance summer tires, and Audi drive select with RS modes.
However, the most significant enhancement is the legendary Audi five-cylinder engine under the hood. This turbocharged 2.5-liter powerplant churns out 401 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, allowing the Audi RS 3 to reach 60 mph from a standstill in a scant 3.5 seconds, on its way to a top track speed of 155 mph (electronically limited). Available upgrades include an extended carbon-fiber package and a sonorous RS sport exhaust system.
